What is Glade Dance Collective?

Formed in August 2009, Glade Dance Collective is a Washington, D.C.-based group of artists who come together through the shared idea that the creative voices of individuals guide our collective social, cultural, and political growth. Glade is a part of an emerging generation of dance artists living, working, and interacting with diverse communities. Glade's dancers strive toward the common goal of creating socially relevant works of both personal and collective meaning. Glade Dance Collective seeks to inspire those from all walks of life to move, create, and engage.

Glade Dance Collective has participated in a wide range of festivals, performances, workshops and showcases in D.C., including the Eureka Dance Festival, Adams Morgan Day, H Street Festival, and multiple outdoor events during the Dance Is The Answer Festival in April. We are made up of dancers and choreographers from diverse backgrounds who seek to incorporate dance into our varied lives in many ways and encourage others to do the same.
